I know it’s not 21, but this birthday still meant a lot to me. I’m one of those birthday people. Celebrating them for other people is important to me, even if it’s just cheesy Instagram posts or something small. I love the idea of celebrating another year of life. Growing up with depression and anxiety, each year took a lot out of me. If you asked me three years ago what I wanted to do on my twentieth birthday, I wouldn’t know what to say; I wouldn’t know if I would get to that point. Being able to be proud of myself for being a twenty year old junior in college with family, and friends, and a great relationship, is overwhelming in the best way. Thank you to everyone for this year. Here’s to another 12 months of mental illness, but also mental strength. #keeptalkingmentalhealth
